Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain will miss the rest of his rookie season to recover from knee surgery, the team announced Thursday. McCain underwent surgery on Dec. 17 to repair a torn left meniscus he sustained during Philadelphia's 121-107 home loss to Indiana four days earlier.

McCain suffered the torn meniscus in his left knee on Dec. 13 during a 121-107 loss to the Indiana Pacers. He underwent surgery to repair the tear and his return was indefinite. Repairing the meniscus was better for McCain's long-term prognosis with the injury. However, it also meant there would be a longer recovery.

The Sixers announced Thursday that rookie guard Jared McCain is expected to miss the rest of the 2024/25 season after undergoing surgery for a meniscus tear in December.

The Philadelphia 76ers will be without star rookie Jared McCain for the remainder of the season. McCain has been out since tearing the meniscus in his left knee in a game against the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 13.
