Samsung confirms the first Galaxy phones with Qi2 support will launch in 2025. Google is working with the Wireless Power Consortium to develop Qi v.2.2 with its own fast-charging technology. The WPC is also introducing a "Qi2 Ready" branding that enables phones and accessories to deliver the Qi2 experience when paired together.

The Wireless Power Consortium announced at CES on Monday that more Android devices will use the MagSafe-based Qi2 charging standard in 2025. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll all have magnets, though;

At this point, the only major phones to support the Qi2 wireless charging standard are the newer iPhones. This opens plenty of possibilities for accessories for iPhone users, but it leaves Android users in the dust.
